What is the Missouri Star Quilt Co?

In November 2008 the Missouri Star Quilt Company was born.  We thought starting our own “little” quilt shop would be “fun”.  Since then we’ve been busier than we ever imagined, more stressed, more frustrated, and more tired!  Maybe we're gluttons for punishment?!  At the same time we’ve been more excited, more creative, happier, and made thousands of friends on the way.  Initially, we spent a few months working night and day to turn this …

It was a lot of work, but it was well worth it, and we’d gladly do it over again!  We love our little home away from home here at the shop o:)

We are a family owned and operated business in Hamilton, Missouri.  A lot of people ask us if we have a real live shop that people can visit, and the answer is a resounding YES!  We love visitors, and mom (Jenny) just loves any excuse to pull out her bag of tricks and take over the cutting table, showing everyone how fun and easy quilting is can be :)  We'd love to have you drop in, so if you are ever in the area, don’t be a stranger, we’d love to see your pretty face! 

The People behind the Missouri Star Quilt Company

Hello quilters!  We're glad you found us in our little nook of the web.  If you’re a regular on here, you might be wondering who the people are behind the scenes, so let me give some quick introductions :-)

Behind the cutting table is our beloved mama - Jenny Doan.  She is the rockstar of the family, you know her from all her YouTube Quilting Tutorials or maybe she's quilted one of your quilts on her Gammill sewing machine, but we just know her as mom. :-)

Then as you continue on to the back room, you will find our sister Natalie Dawn and her staff shipping away, all day, every day!  The ultra fast shipping and kind notes are mostly Natalie’s doing.  On top of that, she is brilliant when it comes to super easy ways to use precuts to make beautiful quilts!  This girl just sees things we can't :-)

Keep going and you'll get to another sister, Sarah Galbraith, she's the brains behind the operation.  She is responsible for every product that comes into the shop, she is the strategy guru, financial wiz, etc.  She claims she spends the whole day emailing customers and paying bills, but mom thinks she's just on facebook!  We’ll never know! :-)

Lastly, we have the brother Al (the YSGLCG) and our family friend Dave (the YMGLCG).  They are the computer brains behind the site that we all know and love.  They make the products, manage inventory, upgrade, update, let us do cool Daily Deal things like lightning rounds and all the other crazy ideas we come up with.  They take all the ideas and suggestions we have and transform them into a super fast site for us all!  Thanks guys!

Of course there are other sisters (Hillary) who help out remotely and brothers (Jake) who save us when we're in trouble, as well as lots of other family and friends who support us through countless other ways, but this is a quick look at who is behind the famed Missouri Star Quilt Company, and we thank you for your business and support!  We are living our dream and each day are grateful we get to do this wonderful service to you all!
