Clever sewists long ago invented a solution to this problem–the thimble! Most of us think of the traditional silver cap thimble, but many types of thimbles have been developed since this early model.


At Missouri Star, we like Nimble The Soft Thimble. This leather thimble is a soft thimble that conforms to the shape of your finger and allows you to “feel” the needle. The Nimble Thimble has a protective metal tip that helps you push your sewing needle through thick fabrics. An opening at the end of the Nimble Thimble accommodates the fingernail.


We think you might enjoy these leather thimbles for hand quilting.
