Block of the Month Frequently Asked Questions
What is Block of the Month?
This quilting program gives you the opportunity to create a beautiful quilt, block by block, until you reveal the finished quilt at the end! You’ll receive a portion of the kit each month, until the entire kit has been sent. It gives you time to savor the process of quilting as you finish each section. This economical program also allows you to budget your quilting projects, paying for each portion as you receive it instead of all at once.
What do I receive each month?
Each Block of the Month shipment contains the instructions and fabrics needed to complete that block or section of the quilt. And when you’re all through, you get 10% off Machine Quilting Services to add the perfect finishing touch!
Will I get billed twice in the first month if I subscribe early in the month?
No. You will never be billed more than once per month for this subscription.
Are backing fabrics included?
Backing fabrics are sold separately. Each kit comes with coordinating backing fabric suggestions or you can go ahead and choose your favorite backing.
If I have a problem finishing one of the portions of the kit in time, what should I do?
Don’t sweat it. Even if you’re not all caught up, you can work on each portion of the kit at your leisure. If you have any concerns, give us a call Monday through Friday, 8am to 10pm CST, or Saturday and Sunday, 7:30am to 7pm CST, to speak to one of our Customer Service Representatives.
How do I pay?
Your credit card will automatically be charged each month when that portion of the kit is shipped, including a low, $5 monthly shipping charge. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
When will my kit begin to ship?
The first portion of your kit will be shipped immediately when you sign up. Each month after that, a portion of the kit will be sent within the first week of each month. Most orders ship in 24-48 hours. Please allow 3-12 business days for standard shipping.
How can I find out if my next kit has been sent?
Log in to your Missouri Star Quilt Co. account to check your Block of the Month shipment status. We’ll also send you email updates when your kit is shipped.
If I enroll in separate Block of the Month programs, can they be shipped together?
Because each program is handled separately and have different timelines, we are not able to combine the shipments.
I didn’t receive all the required fabrics for this portion of the kit. What should I do?

I received a damaged monthly kit. What should I do?
Just call or email our Customer Service Department at 888-571-1122 or info@missouriquiltco.com and we’ll give you a shipping label to send it back. We will be happy to replace it. An identical monthly kit will be sent to you at no additional cost. Please include your original receipt, shipping address, email address, and phone number.
Should I prewash the fabrics?
We recommend that you do not prewash the fabrics in a Block of the Month kit. Many are precuts and will fray and lose their shape if prewashed.
Do I get Quilter’s Cash points for Block of the Month?
Each month, when your shipment is sent, your Missouri Star Quilt Co. account will be credited for 3% of the amount you spent that month. Save up your points to spend on all the notions and backing you need to finish your kit. Learn more about Quilter’s Cash HERE.
Can I cancel the program before it ends?
You may cancel your Block of the Month program through your online account or by calling Customer Service at 888-571-1122. Any unopened portions of the monthly kits can also be returned for full credit. Return shipping will be at the expense of the buyer. Returned goods must include a copy of the receipt, your shipping address, email, and phone number.
