Easy Beginner Pattern!

I am new to quilting and this pattern couldn’t be any easier for a new quilter to follow and so pretty! The only negative I would state is these pattern “pamphlets” should either br offered in a larger size for aging eyes or offered in pdf format so one can expand the print and photos.

I saw this quilt on display at Bird-in-Hand Fabrics this spring and the label said it was a Missouri Star Pattern but that’s all they knew. I looked for the pattern and finally spotted it in the background of an August 2013 baby quilt tutorial. I continued searching for several months and finally identified it. Lucky for me a week later you had a pattern sale. It looks challenging but is quite simple. I love it!

Good Night, Irene Pamphlet Review

I ordered the physical pamphlet of Goodnight Irene instead of the online version because I like to have the hard-copy. I felt like I had all the instruction I needed to start my quilts. I am making 3 memory quilts in honor of my Aunt and Uncle who have passed. I altered the pattern in that, I am making a 4-patch (instead of the suggested 16-patch) because I wanted to feature my uncle's shirts and my aunts blouses in the body of each block. Goodnight Irene (Mom)

When I saw the pattern "Goodnight Irene", I told my sister we should make this for our mother at our quilt retreat. Mom is in a memory assisted living and her name is Irene! Yea . I needed to alter the pattern as a hospital bed has different dimensions. Just finished quilting and binding and one of our friends donated the backing. We will give it to her for her birthday at the end of August. Thank you MQ for the beautiful pattern. We love you Mom.

Easy pattern with lovely results

This pattern looks more complex than it actually is. Just a few shapes, straight lines, no Y seams. Aside from the zillion or so half square triangles, it was a breeze. I ordered the pattern because I loved the overall effect. I went through my fabric hoard, and then dipped into Mama’s. About half way through the first block, I thought, “why not make this for Mama? Part of the fabric is hers anyway…” 😂 It turned out so well!

Fun pattern

I love the look, however, I did modify the pattern to make a queen size quilt. Next I’ll quilt it this weekend.
