My quilter sent me a picture of this quilt hanging. I thought it was absolutely gorgeous so I went to Missouri Star Quilt to see if I could find the kit which I did. I was not familiar with a quilt grid but I soon learned and went to our local quilt shop to purchase. If you are not familiar with watercolor quilts, you lay the 2" square pieces down on the fusing side of the quilt grid which you can purchase by the yard. You lay it according to the pattern with the darker pieces on the edges and the lighter around the cross pieces which you lay down as they are. They do not need to be cut in two inch pieces. When you are satisfied with the design, you then carefully press the pieces into place. A suggestion was made to take a picture and change to black and white to check the shading. That was helpful. After you have pressed the pieces down, you fold the grid vertically and sew with a usual 1/4" seam. I would recommend that you press as you go - in one direction until all the seams are sewn. Then you start the process horizontally, again pressing as you go. The border does not come with the kit so you need to find something very close to the brown in the cross. In consulting with the quilt shop, they thought the inner border (black) looked like it could be a flange which is what I did with 1" wide black fabric. It is SO EASY and BEAUTIFUL.
