Local Business Spotlight: Hy-Klas
Local businesses are vital for small towns like Hamilton! They each have so much to offer, not only in terms of the services they provide, but their history as well! Welcome to Hy-Klas, the local grocery store owned and operated by Mark and Vicki Ward. 
Hy-Klas was established in 1938, a business into which Vicki was later born. Mark began working at Hy-Klas as a bag boy in the 1970s. Their shared experiences at Hy-Klas brought them together, and they eventually got married and had three daughters, all of whom have been involved in the family business. In 2006, the couple took over the company from Vicki’s parents. After 41 years of marriage, Mark and Vicki successfully operate two Hy-Klas grocery stores, located in Hamilton and Polo.
Hy-Klas is a welcoming store filled with delicious foods, fresh produce, and friendly staff. The atmosphere exudes a cozy, small-town vibe. If you get hungry while shopping, be sure to visit their deli to grab a tasty sandwich!
Over the years, a lot has changed, but one thing that has remained constant is the company's commitment to giving back to the community. They regularly contribute to local churches, schools, the fire department, and even to us! Hy-Klas has been instrumental in supporting our events and retreats, always going out of their way to ensure we have everything we need when they come to visit.
