We have two handicap-friendly rooms, each with its own shower, shower chair, toilet, and sink. These rooms are reserved for those guests who cannot physically navigate the stairs to the second floor. The second floor of the facility is accessible to all guests via a staircase and a chairlift.

Missouri Star's Mini Retreat Center

If you have a private group of eight or fewer, or would like to take advantage of a longer stay, our Mini Retreat Center may be the option you are looking for. It features a full kitchen, a small dining area, a sewing /activity area, and a large bedroom that accommodates up to eight people. Occupants will share two fully equipped bathrooms. The Mini Retreat Center is accessible during normal business hours by an elevator located in one of our shops. After hours, it is accessible via an exterior staircase.

What Facilities Are Available?

The main floor features a spacious room suitable for activities, events, and dining. There are two bathrooms, two guest rooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. The second floor contains eight guest rooms and six bathrooms.


The main floor can accommodate approximately 40 sewists and sewing machines, each with its own dedicated sewing space. Each table has its own electrical outlet nearby, and there is plenty of space for cutting and ironing. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can make a cup of tea, coffee, or graze at our snack table. Enjoy the outdoor deck just off the kitchen when the weather is warm!


How many people can stay overnight?


The Missouri Star Retreat Center comfortably sleeps up to 36 guests spread across spacious, welcoming rooms. Bedroom layouts vary to fit your group’s needs, making it easy for friends to stay together and enjoy the retreat experience. If you’re arriving on your own, sharing a room is a wonderful way to meet fellow quilters and make new friends while you relax and sew.



Two guest rooms on the main floor are handicapped friendly, each with two twin beds and a private bathroom for added convenience. A chair lift provides easy access to the second floor, which features additional guest rooms and six shared, well-appointed bathrooms, each with a shower, toilet, and sink. With so many facilities available, our guests never feel crowded—just comfortable, relaxed, and inspired. The retreat center combines function with charm, creating a welcoming, classy atmosphere perfect for a quilting getaway you’ll always remember.

What meals are included during retreats?

We’ve got you covered! Our meal schedule depends on when you arrive:

For Early Bird Arrivals:


Monday evening: A light dinner will be served.

Tuesday morning: Enjoy a continental breakfast.


For All Guests:

Tuesday evening: Dinner will be served.

Wednesday & Thursday: Continental breakfast and dinner will be provided.

Friday morning: A hot farewell breakfast awaits before your departure!


Snacks

We always set out a snack table, because sewing definitely makes us all snack-y! We provide light snacks, but if there is something particular you crave, feel free to bring it.


How is seating arranged?

We have assigned seating for the well-lit 4-foot sewing tables (personal sewing lamps are optional). If you are traveling with a friend or a group and would like to sit together, that’s no problem! Please just indicate this on your registration form with the names of the people you wish to sit by. We also provide cutting and ironing tables, irons, power strips, and small side tables.

Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?

Feel free to bring your own machine (remember all the cords!). Alternatively, reserve one of our machines for the duration of your stay at no charge. If you need a rental machine, please indicate this on your registration form.

What is the cancellation policy?

We know things happen, but if you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible. Retreats are fully refundable 60 days prior to the start date. If you are past the 60-day notice and are unable to attend, you may transfer your reservation to someone else or move to another retreat at a later date.
