5" Precut Quilt Squares (Charm Packs)

Looking for charm packs in every color, theme and style? You're in the right place. These precut bundles of 5" quilting squares are a customer favorite for a very good reason: they turn into gorgeous quilts and quick projects that come together in a snap.

What is a charm pack?

A charm pack is a bundle of precut 5" x 5" fabric squares, usually 42 of them, all cut from one coordinating fabric line. There's no measuring or cutting: the squares are ready to sew straight out of the package. Charm packs are also an easy, economical way to sample a whole fabric collection before you commit to yardage.

Charm squares are perfect for patchwork quilts, table runners, wall hangings, pillows and tote bags, and they play nicely with other precuts like jelly rolls (2.5" strips) and layer cakes (10" squares).

Why are they called charm packs?

"Charm pack" started out as one manufacturer's name for a bundle of 5" squares, and it stuck. It's what most quilters call them, and it's what we've called them in our tutorials for years. Other fabric companies use their own names for the same thing: Northcott calls them Chips, Island Batik calls them Stamps, and Andover calls them Single Scoops. Some simply say 5" squares. It's all the same idea, a cute name for a stack of coordinating 5-inch precut quilt squares, and you'll find every one of them right here.

Shop 5" squares from Robert Kaufman, Northcott, Henry Glass, Island Batik, FreeSpirit, Maywood Studio, Andover and more, including baby-themed packs that are perfect for nursery quilts and gifts.
