Blooming Stars takes the classic eight-pointed star and expands the block into a fabulous twelve-pointed star with the help of some ingenious piecing. And it's definitely simpler to create than it seems. Give it a try and be amazed! To begin you'll need one package of 10" print squares and one package of 10" background squares along with just over a yard each for the inner and outer border.

Finished size: 67" x 67"

Well written pattern

I was looking for a star-centric pattern that used layer cakes, not jelly rolls, and settled on this. Very happy with the directions and how it turned out. I liked fussy cutting the accent squares to showcase the fabric pattern. Just had to be careful not to distort the squares with all of the large snowballed corners

Love this pattern! Thanks, Natalie!

I am working on a quilt using this pattern right now, in blues. The pattern is easy to follow even though it has quite a few steps in each block. Once you get chain piecing all those snowballed corners, it comes together nicely.
