Very nice bag, but terrible instructions. Don't even start until you watch Misty's tutorial video!

I have been sewing for almost 40 years and I struggled understanding this written pattern. The video was very helpful, but it still left out the essential info about which way the zipper should be sewn on for the first zipper step. (It needs to go face down on the right side of the outer bag, by the way). Some other tips that would be helpful to add to the pattern: It is essential to cut your stabilizer/batting/foam to be at least 1/4 inch smaller than the pieces. I would go 3/8" smaller on...

Zipper pouch

Great pattern. Made one and this pouch comes in very handy for quilting retreats. I had a problem with sewing the second zipper leg on so it turned out a little funKy for me. I plan on making a second one and hopefully zipper sews on better. But the pattern is great to have. 🌸👏🌸👏

DIFFICULT

I think this pattern would be great if you’re very, very experienced in putting bags together; however, I had difficulty in the directions. Still trying to put it together.

Access Bag Review

Love the pattern but some of the video shots did not show some critical areas that would have helped understand process better.

Very nice case. Not a beginner project, but fun to make.

What I was looking for...

I was looking for a cosmetic bag that lays flat and this one fit the bill. The pattern is ok (3 stars+1 for video) and the video is helpful. I liked the booklet format. Neither the video nor the pattern explained which way to sew on the zipper. Should it be facing down or up when prepping it to sew? For sewists new to zippers good luck. The zipper parts get bulky and my heavy duty machine struggled a bit with the sides of the bag. It was a surprise to pay $5 for shipping something that would...

All access bag pattern

I am an experienced sewist and have made many different types of bags. I found this pattern to be poorly written, leaving things out like which side of the zipper should be facing up and how far (in inches) the pocket should be below the seam line. Also, the pattern has you put the interfacing on where needed throughout the construction instead of putting all the interfacing on at once which is annoying.

Poorly written, even with video instructions

Poorly written pattern and difficult to follow, even following along with the YouTube video. Exposed seams are unacceptable, and there is no way to trap the side gusset along the zipper and have the zipper lie flat when 'stitching to trap the exposed seams'. I could reverse engineer this pattern, but I think I'll stick with patterns written by bag makers.

Instructions

Please read the pattern layout carefully. It was just a bit confusing to me. Had to really look at the pictures to tell for sure what was going on. Hope it turns out. My student is making it.

All Access bag

This is a very difficult pattern to read and follow. I needed to watch Misty’s video a number of times to follow. The pattern instructions wording was also difficult to understand.
