Bernette vs my 22-year-old Pfaff

The jury is still out on the Bernette b77. I'm thrilled to have a new machine with many bells and whistles for the sale price of $999. But in a way it does too much. And it is a 'quilting and sewing machine' but didn't come with a 1/4" foot. I had to order one from a shop about 2 hours away that is a Bernina dealer. It came with all sorts of feet that I'll never use. There is no paper manual (I know, that is typical these days), but to sort through a huge PDF is annoying, and I don't want to...

So excited to get busy

So many features it’s going to take time to play with this gem to get it figured out! What fun! I can’t wait to get busy! Love the thread cutting feature and the needle threader works great! I’m surprised how I liked the knee control for raising and lowering the foot. I think I am going to be really happy with this machine!!

Excellent machine

I have never owned a Bernina or a Bernette before. So I really wasn't sure what to expect. I heard both pros and cons. I have never owned a dual feed machine before. This is so smooth, sometimes I can't believe it. I bought this as a travel machine but honestly it has many of the features that my high end Baby Lock Solaris has. Definitely a great purchase.

This machine has all I need!

I was looking at sewing machines to see if I could find one that had all I wanted in a machine. The sewing machines I were looking at were going to cost around $5,000! This Bernette 77 had all the bells & whistles I was looking for and cost less than half of the ones I had on my wish list. Awesome!!

Sew, sew, sew!

I’m loving my new sewing machine! I make LOTS of quilts, so I’ve already put many hours on it. I’ve been so busy piecing quilt tops together that I haven’t had time to learn all there is to do with it. Now I want to look into getting a walking foot for it. Sew much more to learn!
