This issue is packed with cozy autumn projects and festive holiday makes to keep your creativity humming all season long. Stitch up bed quilts in warm fall color palettes, yuletide ornaments to hang on the tree, a quilt-as-you-go tiny treasure house, and a table runner featuring cheerful gingerbread friends!

On this month’s cover, Misty welcomes Craig Conover—star of Bravo’s Southern Charm, founder of the lifestyle brand Sewing Down South, and fabric designer for Robert Kaufman. In this issue, Craig shares how sewing became an important part of his life after rediscovering the hobby he first learned in home economics class. You’ll also love his Galway Bay Quilt, featuring houses, boats, and windmills in cool coastal hues.

We’re also thrilled to feature artist and designer Michael Nardi, who gives readers an exclusive look into his colorful world of quilting and teaching, along with his bright and joyful Earp’s Holiday Quilt pattern. Don’t miss the latest updates from Jenny and Ron’s adventures in Africa, and be sure to check out our tips for using Missouri Star’s new Hats & Boots Templates to add a little country-western flair to your next project!

For centuries, starch in some form has been used in laundering garments and linens, and we're diving into the overwhelming array of choices for starching fabric to help you to up your quilting game! Continuing our "What If" series, we change up the Prairie Flowers quilt to include a panel as the centerpiece, adding a delightful seasonal twist. You’ll also find clever ideas for wrapping a quilt to give as a gift and speedy projects to help you “sleigh” your holiday gifting this year.

As in all BLOCK issues, you'll get instructions for 10 projects, from small, quick makes to full-size quilts. We can't wait for you to dive into this issue and experience the joys of sewing together with the Missouri Star community!

Block issue 5

It took two tries to get the magazine. Hope it doesn't take that much trouble to get the next issue I would prefer more quilt patterns not all the extras.

Disappointing

Disappointed again. Only one of the patterns interested me. Good info for beginners but that's not for me. Seriously thinking of cancelling. Also many quilts shown are dark. Details are hard to see.

No more for me

After collecting every block book, since the 1st. I’m done. It’s just not the same. If I wanted to read a book (story) I’d read a book. I don’t need a novel, when I’m trying to sew. I love to quilt and have been sewing and quilting about as long as the magazine has been published. I loved watching Jenny’s videos, in the beginning and was inspired to create my own quilts and to learn new techniques. Thank you for that. There’s just to much going on with Missouri Star now for me to take it all...
