I love this iron rest! I've ordered a couple silicone iron rests from Amazon and they were terribly thin and the heat was still scorching my ironing board cover. This iron rest is so much thicker. I will note that the color is not accurate. Maybe this one pictured is an older version because it looks very light teal. The one I received was a very deep teal. I’m so glad that I bought this iron rest! By setting my iron on this while I’m sewing, I can keep my iron hot! Also, use it to preheat my iron until I need it!

Sense of safety/stabilty.

Normally, I rest the iron upright when it's plugged in. This rest has enough flatness to still provide a stable setting when the iron is upright. And if I need to adjust the position of the ironing board, I can put the iron flat, knowing it is much more stable and not going to cook the cover in the process. I'm guessing the sturdy, but ample hole will allow it to be hung on a peg when the ironing board is put away. Ba-ha-ha-ha, like that is likely to happen.
