You can’t put a square peg in a round hole, but you can put lots of squares in a square quilt! The pieced Surprise Square in a Square quilt has the look of squares set on point, but it’s surprisingly easy! With the help of precut 10” print squares, you can make a quilt with a finished size of 67” x 67”. Sample quilt made with fabrics from the Blossom Lane collection by Katherine Lenius for Riley Blake Designs.

    ACE Hardware to the rescue!

    Enjoyed the "surprise", that added 6 inches from side to side. I am making a large queen quilt, and now need to insure that all the pieces are 13 inch square.

    I bought a piece of 13 inch square plastic from ACE Hardware for $5.30. Perfect!

    Interesting technique

    When I watched the tutorial I was impressed with the tecnique of cutting a slit in the fabric and turning the block right side out. I want to get to this pattern as soon as possible and I already have the perfect fabric for the quilt. Keep up the great work.
