Questions about quilt stencils? No problem! At Missouri Star, not only do we provide all sorts of quilt stencil patterns and fabric marking templates, we can tell you a thing or two about them.
Quilt stencils for machine quilting are simply thin and flexible templates that are used for quilting and all sorts of other crafts. Just like templates we use for making quilt blocks, machine quilting stencils act as guides when making a quilt, giving us the exact shape and form we want to work with!
Early quilters who haven’t explored many quilt stencil marking tools, but are eager to learn about them usually ask how you use quilting stencils. If you have the same question, don’t worry, there are plenty of instructions and tutorials available online that will show you the ins and outs of quilt stencils for machine quilting and marking quilts.
Another question we hear is how to mark a quilt for free motion quilting. The answer to that question depends mostly on you! There are dozens and dozens of marking tools you can use, from chalk pens to traditional fabric marking pens. If you want to get a good visual on free motion quilting, Jenny can introduce you to in the video below - it's an oldie, but a goodie!
If you’ve already done some research on quilt stencil patterns and/or fabric stencil designs, you may have come across something called a “pantograph.” What are pantographs used for? The word itself may sound fancy, but pantographs are simply pre-programmed quilting patterns that are stitched across the quilt top by longarm quilting machines.
Our Machine Quilting Department uses pantographs, and you can see their extensive selection of beautiful stitch patterns to complete your quilt right HERE.
If you’re ready to start putting some quilt stencil patterns in your shopping cart, we’re ready to help you get started! We carry a great variety of quilt stencil designs, no matter the theme or style you have in mind, we guarantee you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for. We even specifically have quilt stencils for beginners, quilting stencils for borders, and continuous line quilting stencils.
