Binding Eaze for Quilted Heartz

I liked the idea that it would be faster to prepare a lot of sashing and binding strips..... and even though it was, somewhat, I still had to give it a two star rating. The Major, Major, issue I had. was that I got a lot of unraveling of edge threads. With the Binding Eaze tool, I got unraveling, a lot of unraveling, across the entire strip edges as I slide it through. Another issue I came across, is that you need to keep the fold of the fabric against or next to the bottom of the 'belt...

I found it easier and quicker to iron the binding in half the old fashioned way - the way I have been doing it for 40 years. I thought this gadget would would save me time, but found instead that it is not as accurate as manually folding the strip in half.

It does what it says it does

I will never iron binding again without this. Leave your iron flat and pull the binding under without fear of scalding your ironing pad. The flaps keep the binding run place as well as prevent the iron from falling off the edge.

I was gifted one last year and live it! I bought two this year to gift to my quilt friends.

I love the idea of this, and when I saw a video of it I put it on my wish list. It works beautifully - heat the iron (I did add water for steam, which I don't usually do), start the binding by folding it in half, insert into the Binding Eaze, place the iron, then pull through. Easy peasy. My only issue is that I am not experienced enough yet to have the edges always meet up when I pull the binding fabric through, so I had to go back and align the edges up more carefully by hand and re-press.
