I use these needles when I have done appliqué pieces. I always take my thread ends when I’m finished appliquéing and thread them into a needle and pull them to the back of my work and secure them. Having a self threading needle makes this step simple. Both threads can be threaded at the same time, whereas a regular needle has to be threaded with each thread individually, which can be a slow process. Popping both threads into the self threading slot is quick and easy.
