Patchwork Stocking

The instructions are confusing me. When I get down to the step where it says to fold remaining half of segment over next segment. Help! Can anyone help me?

Christmas stocking

OK . Does not give a profile of the actual stocking shape that would have been helpful. You just have to adlib it. Free patterns would be a nice touch, since many other sites offer them.
