How to Stitch an American Dream by Jenny Doan for Harper Horizon

I read the book upon my return from Hamilton's Birthday Bash. I purchased the book and was so grateful to have Jenny sign it for me. It was a read I hated to put down and sorry the book ends even though Jenny's story continues. What a very warm, humble family!

I have worked in a school library for 20 years. I have handled tons of books as well as read tons of books. So, I consider myself a well read person. I absolutely loved the American Dream book. It is interesting, funny and inspirational. I first found MSQC when searching for how to make Dresden quilt blocks. Jenny’s tutorial was the answer and the quilt turned out beautifully; it was a blue ribbon winner as a result (thank you,Jenny!). I loved this book and was so happy to find out the back story of MSQC. Kudos to Jenny and family for the courage and fortitude to build a quilt empire!

I laughed, I cried, I learned about a wonderful woman named Jenny Doan. Although I've followed her on YouTube for over eight years. Jenny is the reason I now quilt. She has made me like to piece, enjoy the process and learn. The story of her life was very insightful and painful. The joy she has sustained her through trials and heartbreak. There were pages of sadness, joy and survival. Well written, easy to read and a happy ending. What more could one ask in a good book?

Really enjoyed the book. Just finished re reading it this morning. My friend and I returned home from Hamilton 3 days ago. Had a fantastic time in Hamilton. Wonderful lunch at Mrs. Littles, toured the Quilt Museum and was most impressed with the young curator Jackson. He is a quilter and very polite, knowledgeable young man. We even drove to Liberty Square MO to see Angela Walters quilt shop and learned Jenny Doan will be there next year 2024 for the quilt walk.

I’m two-thirds of the way through this book. Just fantastic! Authentic, heartfelt, and page-turning. Additionally, I love how the book feels in my hands. Very high quality printing.
