I wanted to love these needles

I do hand sewing for appliqué, piecing, and quilting. I wanted to love them, but in the end I thought they have a pronounced drag that makes it more difficult to push and pull the needle through the fabric. I don't know if it's the gold coating or just the width of the needle, but the end result seems to be more fatigue and slower sewing.
