I always use OMNI thread.
I use OMNI thread for all my piecing as well as quilting. The gray shades blend well with all colors. Love the cones as they last forever, are strong, and are more lint free than other threads I've used.

OMNI Thread was designed as a strong machine quilting thread for high speed longarm quilting and is recommended as both a top thread and a bobbin thread. OMNI is much cleaner, brighter, and stronger than other poly-wrapped poly core threads. Recommended Needle Topstitch #90/14 (for home machines) and #18 (MR4.0) (for longarm machines).
