Great Final Product

I love this bag and the pattern! I wasn’t able to give 5 stars because a few steps were not clear. I watched the tutorial video before beginning, and had to go back and rewatch key bits to fully understand the directions. Even with these cautions, and carefully consulting the illustration, the strap ended up on backwards. Also, it was clear that the binding was optional, however it was not referenced when to include it, if desired.

So glad there was an online tutorial for this bag. Neither pattern nor tutorial covered how to bind the seams with bias tape. If that had been covered I would’ve given pattern 5 star rating.

Nice finished product but issues with video and instructions

I like the style but I had a lot of trouble following the instructions and video. The instructions had several steps that were in a different order than the video steps. The video would have been a lot better and more useful if there were more closeups. Also the instructions had a lot of steps jammed together and didn't always tell you which side you were supposed to be working on.

Sling Bag

I am currently in the middle of making this bag and find the directions a bit confusing in some parts . I have watched the video tutorial for clarification, but those same confusing parts in the written pattern are skimmed over in the video. After walking away from the project for a bit and coming back, I think I have figured it out. However, I would not be successful with the directions alone, which is unusual from MSQC patterns.

I made this to go to the SewExpo this year. Two handed shopping ! Yay! It went together nicely and I made a backpack and shopping bag all to match. I’m all set.

Very hard to understand.

This is the only pattern I’ve ever gotten from MSQC that I didn’t think was great. It is very very hard to understand. The bag is finished — my way. I doubt it’s the way the designer intended.

Almost perfect

I love this bag & it turned out great! Pattern was easier to follow after I watched the tutorial. My next bag I think I’ll add a separate lining instead of adding bias to the seams. Nothing wrong with using bias, I just think I would prefer enclosing the seams in the lining. Definitely recommend this pattern
