Block Magazine 2023 Volume 10 Issue 5
This year marks 10 years of BLOCK Magazine, and we’re thrilled to bring you Issue 5 with some exciting projects, tips, and techniques to get you sewing through the holidays! In this issue, you'll find beautiful ways to personalize quilts as gifts for your loved ones. We'll even give you some great ideas of how to wrap your quilts, because a special gift deserves a swoon-worthy presentation!

Looking for a cozy, simple way to finish a project? Tying a quilt by hand adds a sweet homespun look to your projects, and we'll teach you the best way to do it. Featured designer Sandy Gervais talks about her unlikely path to fabric design—a creative career spanning three decades. She also designed a table runner project to capture the magic of winter nights.

Love Dresden quilts? You'll be amazed at these colorful variations on a classic! Create a zippered bag that's perfect for carrying pies to Thanksgiving dinner, a pair of quilted pillows that will help you usher in the season, a baby quilt featuring cute airplane blocks, and so much more! Thank you for following along with us for the last 10 years. Cheers to many more issues of BLOCK to come!

Best Magazine Ever

I am making plans to make a couple of quilts from this issue soon because I’ve been under the weather. Block Magazine has always had the best quilt patterns. Recently made two Blue Yonder quilts. Everyone has loved them. Thank you for the stories in each Magazine.

Made the airplane quilt for a QOV who was in the Air Force in Vietnam. Came out so great

See the picture attached. I also found fabric with the Air Force Seal and fussy cut that to add to the air planes. He loves it.

Nothing new

I have been getting BLOCK for years. I used to enjoy the shortcut easy projects but now the patterns seem to be similar and use a lot of templates

Loved the projects in this issue. I have been working on ideas for pillows and really like the Give Thanks pillows in this issue. I also am working on a quilt for my daughter and she wants it knotted. I was grateful for the article on how to do this. Her one grandmother used to do this on the smaller quilts she did for her grandchildren. When she mentioned to me I was a little hesitant until I read the article in this issue. Thanks for the help
