I like them

I have made this and also the venice placemats. They were easy to put together and used up my leftovers well. I have sent them out as gifts and were very well received. I used a glue stick to hold the fabric i place as I sewed. Also when I trimmed the verticle edges I used winged embroidery scissors to keep from trimming the backing accidentally. Very excellent videos on you Tube to walk anyone thru the process. I'm ordering again.

Jakarta Q as U go

Cutting the pattern pieces was a piece of cake, however, paying attention several times to the strip placement could cost you ripping the piece out. Even if one end looks like it is placed properly the other end may not. I struggled at first, but my friend (new to making quilt tops) almost did more ripping out than sewing. The first placemat was almost a disaster, but she improved as we moved along, and she is coming over today for a binding workshop.

I don’t think I’d purchase this item again - I can easily make my own patterns without the lines!
