Add on Backing
Priority
If you would like to order your backing from us, choose this option and we'll add it to your order. Otherwise, be sure to include your backing with your quilt top.

Please Note:
  • Sending your own backing? It should be at least 4" larger than your top on all sides. For standard 42" width fabric, please sew your backing fabric together or purchase our back piecing services.
  • For binding services using minky/cuddle fabric for backing, please send or purchase coordinating cotton fabric for binding.
  • If you have purchased backing fabric in your shopping cart outside of this order form, contact customer service to avoid having it shipped to you.
  • We cannot guarantee that patterned fabric will be matched at seams when sewing backing fabric pieces together.
  • We make every attempt to center backing, but cannot guarantee that it will be perfectly centered after quilting due to shrinkage of the quilt top.

Add on Trimming or Binding
Priority
When we return a quilt to you, we will leave the excess fabric on the edges unless you add on trimming. For an additional $10, we will neatly trim the edge of your quilt and return the excess fabric to you.

If you would also like us to bind your quilt, be sure to include the binding fabric. If no binding fabric is provided, we will use the fabric left over from the backing for the binding if there is enough. Machine stitched binding using a straight stitch is priced at ¢.25 per linear inch and hand stitched binding is priced at ¢.60 per linear inch.

Please Note:
We are unable to bind your quilt with minky, cuddle, or fleece fabric. Thank you for understanding.

Helpful details

Common machine quilting questions.

What does the quilting service include?

Standard machine quilting includes edge-to-edge longarm quilting, batting, and standard thread options. You can choose from simple meanders, florals, feathers, seasonal designs, and other computerized stitch patterns.

How much backing do I need?

Your backing should be at least 4 inches larger than the quilt top on every side. Wide backing fabric is a helpful option when you want a smooth back without piecing seams.

When does the turnaround clock start?

Turnaround begins when your quilt arrives at Missouri Star in Hamilton. Binding, trimming, return shipping, and circumstances outside the quilting queue can add extra time.

Can Missouri Star finish the binding?

Yes. You can add machine or hand binding services during the order flow, or choose trimming if you prefer to finish the binding yourself at home.

Where do I mail my quilt?

Place your order paperwork in the box with your quilt top and backing, then mail it to:

Beautiful quilting

Beautiful work! This is the second quilt I have sent in to MSQC. I chose the posies quilting pattern and cream thread. Despite the tracking process not working and there were gaps in the communication, my quilt came back sooner than expected and looks perfect. Quick turnaround and professional results!

My first order for Edge to Edge quilting.

Wow! My 2 quilts were delivered today. First time I used your quilting service. Both quilts look fantastic! Such an easy process. You can be sure I will get my quilts finished by Missouri Star again. Here is a personal “thank you” to the longarmer. One quilt had a card that said it was done by Jim. Thanks, Jim!

Novice quilter

How do you turn the imperfections of a novice quilter's first quilt into something that looks totally amazing, send it to MSQC and have their professional longarmers quilt it for you. You will be shocked and amazed how beautiful your project turns out, like I was. I will definitely use them again.

Beautiful quilting, highly recommend

The machine quilting was beautifully done. Somehow, the actual quilting seemed more substantial. The only word I can think of to describe it is 'crisp.' I had used other machine quilting services, but MSQC's quality was far superior. I am more than happy with the results. Thank you MSQC for making my quilt look so beautiful.
