Medium Tailors Clapper is a must for sewing and ironing. It is used to press seams without burning. Used with steam from your iron, press the area with the clapper and hold for just a few seconds, it will leave a nice crisp seam. We offer this handmade clapper in Oak. It weighs about 12oz and measures 9 ½ inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide tapered down to 2 inches, and is 1 1/2 in thick. Both sides have routed grooves to offer easy handling and are unfinished to absorb the steam better. Colors may vary from the above picture, they may be lighter or darker depending on the variations of color in the wood used.

Approximate Size: 9 1/2" Long x 1 1/2" Tall
2 1/2" Wide tapered down to 2" wide.

Tailors Clapper

This is a GAME CHANGER! I have never been able to press such a perfect seam that holds. I iron to set the stitches, finger press, then lightly mist with water from a water bottle. Then working left to right I place the iron on the moist seam and hold it there for 10-15 sec. (I do not slide the iron around so I don’t distort the fabric.) Lift and move the iron to the right and place the tailors clapper on the pressed seam holding both for 10-15 sec., continuing to work my way to the right....
