It is recommended to use Synthrapol when washing hand dyed fabrics before using them in a garment or quilt, or when fabric is already quilted and bleeds onto adjacent fabric, or simply to soak fabric before dyeing.

Sets fabric

Lately the new fabrics I have bought (only from quilt shops have bled color. I had used color grabbers but for dark fabrics this product was a game changer. I put it in the washing machine water, agitated and then put in my newly purchased 4 yards of green fabric. It set the fabric from bleeding! I highly recommend.

Saves your project!

My quilt bee worked for years on making a 9 patch quilt to donate to our Guild Silent Auction. I did the final quilting on my longarm. My husband was to drop it off at another member's house. Before he got there, he was in a bad car accident. His cup of water spilled over onto the quilt causing the red patches to bleed onto the white background. Washed the entire queen-sized quilt in the washing machine with a cap full of Synthrapol and the quilt came out perfectly--took all of the bleed out. (Husband repaired too with rest). Highly recommend.
