Birthday Bash 2018
This year’s Birthday Bash was a decade in the making, and we couldn’t have asked for a more fantastic time to celebrate with all of our friends who came to Quilt Town, USA, or partied with us online!
The festivities began on Wednesday, with the first of two Dinner with the Doans events! A fun time was had by all!
On Thursday, we kicked off the party with our employee family photo! It’s always a good time to get all of us together in one spot! We donned our fabulous blue Birthday Bash shirts for the occasion, before dancing over to the patio for the official opening remarks from Jenny, who surprised us all by popping out of a giant cake!
The first day of Birthday Bash was jam packed with as much fun as you could shake a 5x15” Missouri Star ruler at! With patio games, trunk shows and the first-ever Great Missouri Star Fabric Cake Bake Off, there was no shortage of entertainment!
A huge thank you to our friends from VENDORS for their support of Birthday Bash through sponsorships and their awesome fabric cakes! The amount of creativity and thought put into these fabric cakes was amazing! After these cakes were “baked”, they were raffled off on Friday, with all the money raised benefiting the Caldwell County Community Food Pantry--a total of $5,000 was donated!
A stunning fireworks show capped off an amazing first day of celebration!
Friday featured even more quilty enjoyment! From shopping Birthday Bash sales to enjoying the quilt show in the park, it was a beautiful day to be in Quilt Town, USA!
We were so thrilled to be able to partner with Days for Girls, for our charity sewing project. We sewed up 730 feminine hygiene kits, and collected supplies to make 1,000 total. These kits will be distributed to girls in developing nations.
One of our favorite Birthday Bash events is our Sewlebrity Sewoff! In years past, Jenny and Rob have squared off against one another, but this year, they each had an entire team of sewlebrities to help create a quilt top from start to finish! These one-of-kind creations were raffled off at the end of the Sewoff, with the proceeds benefiting the Caldwell County Food Bank.
Our third day of Birthday Bash coincides with JC Penney Days here in Hamilton, and we couldn’t have asked for a better final day! Rob from Man Sewing presented his trunk show and we wrapped up the event with our favorite games on the patio!
We want to extend our sincerest thanks to each and every one of our Missouri Star family. You’ve made this past 10 years absolutely wonderful, and we look forward to seeing what the next decade has in store.
Be sure and make plans to join us for our 11th Birthday Bash set for September 26-28, 2019!
