Recap: Celebrating National Quilting Month in Hamilton, MO!

Last month was a whirlwind of fabric, friendship, and fantastic festivities as we celebrated National Quilting Month in Quilt Town, USA! We welcomed quilters from near and far to join us for a month packed with exciting events, demonstrations, and heartwarming community spirit. If you missed it or just want to relive the magic, here’s a recap of all the fun!

We kicked off the month with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Misty and Natalie outside the Main Shop.

Throughout March, we hosted a variety of quilting, sewing, and embroidery demonstrations in our shops. Misty inspired visitors with her Chenille-It! demonstration in the Main Shop to start the festivities. Natalie, Rachel, Glennie, and Cherry showcased a range of embroidery projects throughout the month, showcasing many of our amazing new embroidery products.

Courtenay Hughes taught techniques for making the Lone Star quilt block and English Paper Piecing (EPP) and provided a Rotary Cutter demonstration. We also welcomed Pam Heller from AccuQuilt, Tina Hancock from Hometown Leatherworks, and many other knowledgeable individuals who generously shared their talents with our visitors!

Many of our talented employees shared their work with visitors this month. We displayed quilt blocks made from our new Northcott Colorworks fabric line:

Our shop employees and machine quilting team held show-and-tell sessions, inspiring everyone with their incredible projects:

Teresa, our shops general manager, demonstrated innovative ways to use yo-yos in quilting and showcased many inspiring finished projects that are truly works of art.

We also launched our brand-new collection of souvenir fabrics, Welcome to Quilt Town, with a meet-and-greet in the Main shop with Jackie Haltom, the designer behind the collection, which was hosted by BJ and also broadcast live on Facebook.

No celebration of National Quilting Month would be complete without a Quilt Walk, and Natalie and Misty led a stunning parade of quilts.

To mark National Quilting Day on March 15, visitors enjoyed two days of fun games, prizes, and light refreshments, starting the day before to maximize the excitement!

Our hearts were filled with gratitude as we collected donations for Project Linus at the Retreat Center from March 15-29. We were truly overwhelmed by the generosity of our quilting community, who donated beautiful handmade blankets for children in need. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

We are incredibly thankful to everyone who joined us in celebrating National Quilting Month in Hamilton. Your enthusiasm and passion for quilting made March truly unforgettable. We can’t wait to see you in Quilt Town again soon!
