"I created the Harriet Sewing Machine Bag out of necessity. I was hauling my sewing machine around every week to sewing club in a regular tote bag. That worked for a while, but I knew I could create something even more functional and beautiful. That is when I started prototyping the bag, it took a lot of trial and error but I was finally able to create a pattern that sewists all over the world could use to create a cut bag just for their sewing machines. The Harriet Sewing Machine bag features a zipper on each corner of the bag, so that your machine can easily be loaded in and out of the bag. It is also filled with pockets so that you can fit all of your notions in too. The name "Harriet" was inspired by Harriet Powers, a formerly enslaved woman and one of the most celebrated African American quiltmakers in history. This bag is a tribute to resilience, artistry, and storytelling through sewing. Harriet’s quilts weren’t just functional, they were filled with rich symbolism and cultural heritage, all hand-stitched with incredible skill and heart. I was so inspired by Harriet and knew that I wanted to honor her legacy in this way. " -Brooklin Young
