Woodinville, Washington (just outside of Seattle) is home to the Stray Threads Quilt Guild.
Founded in 2008 by a small group of women wanting to share their passion for quilting and community, Stray Threads Quilt Guild has grown to an impressive 195 members also known as “Threadies”.

Our guild meets in Woodinville, WA, on the first Thursday of each month. Throughout the year, we host renowned speakers and engage in various activities to connect quilters in a learning and giving environment.
Our mission is to enjoy each other’s company while celebrating our members' work, learning new skills, and using those skills to support vulnerable members of our community through donations of handcrafted items and special drives. We take pride in being a friendly and inclusive space for quilters, and the success of our guild is thanks to the amazing group of volunteers who keep our organization active and enjoyable.
Our outreach is led by a dedicated group of community service volunteers who guide Stray Threads members in fulfilling our mission to support vulnerable individuals in the community. We donate completed quilts and pillowcases to local, national, and international agencies, providing them to everyone from newborns to adults and veterans. In 2024, we completed 526 quilt tops and donated 569 finished quilts and 319 pillowcases.
Stray Threads hosts a variety of activities, including quilt challenges, block lotteries, classes, picnics, all-day quilting gatherings, and quilting retreats.
Our members are incredibly creative. With such diverse talents, they have formed satellite groups to share their skills. These groups focus on different interests, including scrappy quilts, paper piecing, Dear Jane quilts, appliqué, and embroidery.
The Stray Threads are pleased to host a quilt show on April 4-5, 2025 at the Lynnwood Event Center in Lynnwood, Washington. Our show will feature over 266 quilts created by our guild members, along with special demonstrations and a vendor mall. This show is also well-known for its amazing boutique, where items are handmade by our guild members.
This year’s raffle quilt, “Dancing Beak to Beak,” is a real show-stopper! The quilt features 140 bird blocks on the front and 13 more birds on the back, all created by our guild members. If you want to see the quilt up close, visit our quilt show! One lucky raffle winner will be drawn on May 1st; click here to download the flyer to learn more!
