⚡ Quick Answer

  • In Hamilton: Hotel Hamilton (703 W Berry St) — dorm-style, built for groups, and available by the bed during large Missouri Star events.
  • Rental houses are the local favourite: Main Street Inn, Hamilton Getaway, The Bernice Apt, Misty’s Place and Misty’s Carriage House, most owned by people in town. Also on Airbnb and VRBO.
  • Chain hotels are in Cameron off I-35 — Days Inn, SureStay and Comfort Inn — plus Chillicothe and St. Joseph. Several hold a Missouri Star discount if you ask.
  • RV and camping: A Country Charm RV Park (910 N Davis St), American Legion (8 spots, $20/night with hookups), Hawley Farm Glamping and Wallace State Park.
  • No car? To & Fro Airport Shuttle, (816) 351-9172 — ask for Liz.

Hamilton is a small town, so where to stay takes a little more planning than it would in a city — but there are more options than the map suggests, and the best of them are the local ones. Here’s everything, with phone numbers.

💡 Pro Tip: Ask for the Missouri Star rate every single time you book. Several Cameron hotels and the Drury Inn in St. Joseph (15% off per room per night) hold a discount for our visitors — but only if you mention it.

Staying in Hamilton

Hotel Hamilton — 703 W Berry Street, Hamilton, MO 64644, (435) 849-2564, hotel-hamilton.com. Dorm- or bus-style lodging with all single beds, which makes it ideal for groups. During large Missouri Star events, it’s also available by the bed.

Rental houses. This is how most visitors do it. Main Street Inn (5 beds), Hamilton Getaway (5 beds), The Bernice Apt #1 (3 beds), Misty’s Place (10 beds) and Misty’s Carriage House (2 beds) are all in town, and most are owned by friends and family in the community. They also appear on Airbnb and VRBO. If you’re travelling with a retreat group, a whole house beats a row of hotel rooms every time.

Hawley Farm Glamping — 3406 NW Hardy Drive, (816) 589-9448. A secluded boutique glamping resort in the farm country just outside town.
