Fortunately, this type of scissor doesn’t cause too much fraying since they’re meant to be cut on the bias. However, loosely woven fabrics are naturally susceptible to fraying, so straight edge craft scissors are best suited. You can expect minimal fraying when you use pinking shears on cotton and any tightly woven fabrics.
