Fluffy Solids flannel fabric by Henry Glass & Co is aptly named. Fluffy Solids flannel is a two-ply, 100% cotton fabric. That means the threads in the fabric are constructed from two cotton yarns twisted together. Two-ply fabrics generally have a tighter weave, are stronger, and more durable than single-ply fabrics. These features allow the fabric to be brushed–or napped–to a greater degree than other flannels. Considering that people often want flannel fabric for soft and warm quilts, throws, shirts, jackets, or sleepwear–durability is a desirable feature.


Henry Glass Fluffy Solids are available in a variety of colors. Missouri Star sells Fluffy Solids flannel fabric by the yard and Fluffy Solids precuts. A Fluffy Solids flannel precut Layer Cake bundle would be a great foundation from which to build a flannel rag quilt.

You will need one 30” square and one 40” square of Fluffy Solids fabric. Two yards of two different Fluffy Solids by the yard will allow you to make two blankets if you swap the inside and outside colors.
