Guidelines 4 Quilting is a company founded by John and Ritzko Brady. John was intrigued by the process of cutting fabric for piecing quilt blocks. He noticed that the more accurately the pieces were cut, the more easily they came together. But he wondered, why did quilters have to find–by eye–the desired line on their rulers every time they made a cut or stitched a seam? John knew that most tools used to cut wood or metal have a guide. They also have safety features that prevent injuries to the operator. John wondered why quilters couldn’t have tools that do the same things. John wanted to add guides and improve the safety features of the tools that quilters use. Guidelines 4 Quilting was born. Missouri Star carries several Guidelines 4 Quilting products.
We like the Guidelines 4 Quilting Seam Guide. This handy seam guide helps you adhere a removable adhesive strip–similar to a sticky note–onto your sewing machine. You slide the hook on the sewing seam guide around your needle which allows you to position the sticky note seam guides in perfect position for a scant ¼” seam allowance. These seam guides for sewing help you stitch perfect quilt seams. In the short video below, you can see how easy it is to apply the Guidelines 4 Quilting seam guides to your machine.
We also really like Guidelines 4 Quilting Grip Strips. These adhesive strips can be applied to the bottom of any ruler or template. They prevent rulers and templates from sliding while you are cutting fabric–decreasing mis-cuts and increasing safety. Guidelines 4 Quilting Grip Strips can be cut to any size, and they will bend to any shape. These quilting grip strips are removable and will not leave a sticky residue. See the Guidelines 4 Quilting Grip Strips in action below!
We think quilting is a lot of fun. However, when you cut yourself, make mistakes cutting your fabric, or have to rip seams because you stitched too large or small an allowance, sewing can be frustrating. Handy notions from Guidelines 4 Quilting can save some wear, tear, and gray hair. You might want to give them a try!
