Is one precut bundle enough for a baby quilt?

Do you have gender-neutral baby fabric?

Should I prewash precuts for a baby quilt?
We don't recommend prewashing precuts, because the small pieces fray and shrink unevenly. Instead, wash the finished quilt in cold water with a gentle, baby-safe detergent before gifting it, and add a color catcher sheet the first time.
Is flannel or cotton better for a baby quilt?
Both work. Quilting cotton is crisp, easy to piece and holds up to lots of washing. Flannel is softer and warmer but stretches a little, so starch it and sew slowly. Many quilters piece in cotton and back the quilt with flannel or minky.
