Shannon Fabrics is a fabric wholesaler established by Persian immigrant Ebrahim Pairavi in 1995. After five years of striving to make the world a softer place with Shannon plush fabrics, the current president of the company, Arvin Pairavi, hopped aboard the fabric express to help his father. The company has continued to grow. Shannon Fabrics minky is now well-known by sewists the world over for their fluffy, plush fabrics. Their selection consists mainly of Shannon Cuddle fabrics, plus Shannon minky and faux fur in solid colors and designs that in a variety of colors, styles and themes.


You may be wondering what cuddle cloth or minky fabric actually is, and if there is a difference between the two since both terms are often used together. Cuddle cloth fabric is the Shannon Fabrics signature brand of high-quality minky fabrics, while the term minky fabric refers to a variety of plush microfiber fabrics from various manufacturers, including Shannon.


The differences are very slight, as Shannon Fabrics Cuddle cloth is essentially a brand of minky fabric. Shannon minky fabric is a typically one-sided plush fabric with 100% polyester fibers, not to be confused with fleece fabric, which is a two-sided, 100% polyester fiber fabric with a slightly less fuzzy texture. The soft cuddle minky surface is generally on the top side of the fabric.
