A Barnyard Christmas Kit

I was very disappointed with the replacement color for the sheep and cat. Whoever heard of a brown sheep. The light brown used for the sheep and cat blend in with the floor color and do not stand out like on the picture.

I like the sewing method of sewing the pieces to the batting and backing as you go. It made it quick to put together before Christmas as I was hoping!

This was fairly easy to put together and just the right size for a Christmas wall hanging. Directions were clear. I did use some fusible under the animals to make sure they really stuck to the fabric, which is in layers (backing, batting and too) and already partially quilted by the time they are fused on. But it is a very cute pattern and I enjoyed making it.

I echo a previous reviewer-the fabric for the sheep in my kit didn't have enough contrast from the background. I had planned to quilt all the appliques using invisible thread , but decided I needed to use a thread color that might add more definition to the sheep. Another criticism I would air is that the "Barnyard Christmas" creche scene should not include a pig. Jesus and his family were observant Jews and would not have been in a setting that included a pig. I just placed my applique pieces...

I bought this kit and so far have really enjoyed putting it together. Easy instructions to follow, just make sure you read through them first. Nice size and well put together. I am considering making a couple more as gifts!
