Alaska Rainbow Quilt Pattern by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Laundry Basket Quilts

This quilt is one I was commissioned to make for a king-size bed. I wanted to make 14" blocks but I couldn't work out the math, so I went with 12" blocks. I'm happy to say that Edita Sitar has videos for each of the blocks and I studied those before I started. I also used starch, the creative grids ruler, and a seam roller, and worked very methodically through the blocks. The result was quite stunning and I'm about to start quilting. My customer wanted primary colors in prints. My only wish is that the pattern itself contained measurements for larger blocks as well, since the Creative Grids ruler only gives cutting directions/sizes. Specific fabric measurements would have been helpful. A big plus about the pattern is the clarity of pictures of constructing the blocks and of putting the quilt together. Well done!

As an advanced quilter(25+ years) I never expected to have problems/issues with any pattern. I've found errors in this pattern which caused me to waste fabric. Many blocks have seam/bulk issues as well. Have to make two matching quilts as a gift. So glad I learned where the errors are in the first one.
