Description:

Archer Throw is a 38-by-56-inch quilt designed by Wendy Sheppard, featuring Archer Flannel by Whistler Studios with coordinating Palette Flannel fabrics. A fussy-cut printed panel forms the center, framed by three inner borders and a wider outer border. This beginner pattern uses the panel's centered design as the starting point, with each set of border strips added around it. Pitch Black binding finishes the edges of the rectangular quilt.

Archer Throw Free Quilt Pattern by Wendy Sheppard quilt pattern summary

  1. Fussy-cut the panel with its printed design centered. Cut the border and binding strips using the cutting chart, joining strips where directed to obtain the required lengths.
  2. Sew the first inner border to the long sides of the panel, then to the top and bottom. Repeat that order for the second and third inner borders.
  3. Attach the outer-border strips to the long sides of the quilt top. Add the top and bottom strips to complete the frame around the panel and inner borders.
  4. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing, then baste and quilt as desired. Finish with the binding strips cut from the Pitch Black fabric.
