Baby Pinups Free Quilt Pattern by Jean Katherine Smith
Baby Pinups frames four rows of fussy-cut Baby Buddies pictures with checkered sashing and two fabric borders. Jean Katherine Smith provides blue and pink fabric combinations for the same 38-by-42-inch baby quilt. Strip-pieced checks run between the picture rows and around their sides, with the colors arranged to continue the alternating pattern. Separate fabric tables and placement guides accompany the shared construction method, followed by quilting and binding instructions.

Baby Pinups Free Quilt Pattern by Jean Katherine Smith quilt pattern summary
- Choose the blue or pink fabric combination. Fussy cut the four picture strips and prepare the sashing, border, and binding strips from its fabric table.
- Sew the alternating sashing fabrics into strip sets and crosscut them. Join the sections into checkered strips, then sew them between the picture rows in the illustrated order.
- Build the side checks and attach them so the alternating colors continue around the center. Add the wide borders and then the narrow outer borders, pressing and trimming each addition.
- Layer the top, batting, and backing, then quilt. Join the binding strips, square the quilt, and attach the binding with a hand- or machine-finished edge.
