Blackbird’s Nest Jelly Roll race quilt

Loved working with these strips that really added character to a simple jelly roll race. I added wide borders with easily matched fabrics to cover a 6’2” nephew. Professionally quilted by friendly local quilter and friend Sue. Note that I actually purchased a second roll because I really loved the fun, fabric and results!

While I Pondered .... Found this Great Roll of Prints!

I like these prints that I plan on using with a pattern book that features Crows and an Edgar Allen Poe poem. I had been looking for some fabrics that it's author used in their model. This set of prints work very well and give me a reference for the other prints I need to include. I bought both a charm set and strip roll of this fabric. Very pleased with the black and light brown prints.

There is very little to dislike about the Kansas troubles line of fabric. Blackbirds nest is no exception. I buy it when it’s available. Really have no plans right now but I buy it before it disappears.
