Quilting Product Description

We’re halfway through 2024, and quilters and crafters know that means the Christmas season is just around the corner! Volume 11, Issue 3 of BLOCK Magazine is here to help you prepare for the holidays while also enjoying the often fleeting days of summer! Our helpful advice includes everything from making a list and checking it twice to ensuring your machines are ready to sew-sew-sew!

The approaching cooler weather also means it’s time to think about making things extra-warm and snuggly. When it comes to that, nothing beats plush Cuddle® fabric. We have tips for working with this amazingly soft and cuddly fabric, so you can whip up stuffed toys, back your quilts, sew quick and easy scarves, and so much more!

We’ll also introduce you to Jackie MacDonald of Sweetfire Road, a designer for Moda. Jackie’s latest fabric collection, Once Upon a Christmas, is sure to put you in the holiday spirit. If you’d rather not think ahead to Christmas, we have helpful articles for sewing all year long! Do you struggle with threading needles? We have tips for that! Would you like to know which hoops are best for embroidery? We’ll give you all the info!

As always, we have 10 free patterns for you! Full-size quilts, a baby quilt, wall hangings, a table topper, simple trivets, and a handy tote bag.

We invite you to toss a quilt on the ground in the shade of a tree, sip a cool drink, and leaf through this issue of BLOCK as you relish summer while looking ahead to winter!

Block Magazine

Hello Missouri Star Quilt Co. My name is Charlene Schulten and I gotta to say that I truly love the Block Magazine. A friend of mine named Ann and I had taken a road trip out to Missouri Star Quilt town. I was in awwwww!! And I just couldn’t wait to see & meet the Doan family and take an adventure into each one of the shops. Good Lord, I wish I had the money to buy every different color, texture, design and so on. I guess I fit right into us fabric aholic & still wanting more fabrics! Ann & I...

BLOCK Magazine 2024 Volume 1 Issue 3

I have made 2 of the quilts for baby gifts, Little Friends and Moon and Star. They turned out great and the new parents loved them.

Quilts from free tutorials

I love it. I fully enjoy all the stories, info on quilting and embroidery, and of course the patterns! I have only been quilting about a year now and all the tips and tricks that are given have helped me immensely. I made the Wild Blossoms quilt by watching Jenni's free tutorial. Donated it to our church festival live auction. I must say it went for a very good price. I have made the Charms On Point quilt this year for our festival and am excited to see how it does.

Block

I really enjoyed this copy of Block. Beautifully illustrated, and written. Love all the free patterns for the holidays too! Also, working on the block of the month “Always in Bloom” and it is fabulous!! No other quilting idea book like it. It’s so worth every penny! Thank you!

All of them!

I like everything about Block magazines! My all time favorite thing is having the list of quilts on the back of the magazine. I can glance at any issue (I save 'em all!) to see what is in it without having to flip through the whole issue. Of course, I like the clear and concise instructions for each quilt. I always find a few favorites in each issue. And, there are no ads!! Keep 'em coming!

last one. I love them all.i am constantly looking through one for sewing tips. I am 82 and sometimes just need a little assurance

I have every BLOCK magazine from #1 through #15/3. At 82 years old, I find myself needing some assurance that I am sewing a project correctly, and I count on BLOCK magazine for that assurance. It hast let me down in 15 years. My great grandchild, wrote me a request that I leave them to her in my will! I have!

BLOCK volume 11 Issue 3

This issue is the best one yet! Why? It had a whole article on the getting ready process for making and giving Christmas gifts. So often I have waited until November (waaay too late) going to my “gift” closet and looking at what has been made to give away. Inefficient! Now I have a plan that I am shamelessly going to copy. Thank you Everyone!

BLOCK is THE BEST!

Sooooo many wonderful quilt projects in this issue! Moon & Star and Four Patch Around the World are now on my list of To Do quilts. Instructions are clearly written. Photography for BLOCK is the best in every issue. Though I haven't yet started it, the Always in Bloom SewAlong is a wonderful bed quilt that promises to be a keepsake worthy of the time put into it. MSQC, keep up the great job on BLOCK!

Love, Love, Love Block Magazine! The stories are great, photos are beautiful and getting 10 full detailed patterns is fabulous. Also love seeing the fabric that was chosen for each pattern. A quality magazine with no ads, what more could you want.
