Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Broken Lace and Old Dishes gives the fabric remaining after fussy cutting another role in a quilt. The design can use remnants from the Star Sampler project or begin with the separate yardage requirements. Half-square triangles are paired again to make quarter-square-triangle blocks, which repeat through seventeen rows. Two additional dot fabrics connect the prints across the layout. This advanced-beginner project finishes at 75 by 85 inches and includes an alternate cutting method for irregular remnants.

Broken Lace and Old Dishes Free Quilt Pattern by Liza Lucy quilt pattern summary

  1. Choose the remnant or yardage cutting instructions. Cut the listed squares, using the triangle template where a remnant cannot supply a complete square.
  2. Sew paired squares on both sides of the diagonal line and cut them apart into half-square triangles. Pair those units again to form the quarter-square-triangle blocks.
  3. Repeat for the six fabric combinations, using the separate-triangle assembly when needed. Arrange seventeen rows of fifteen blocks and join the rows with nesting seams.
  4. Join the binding strips, layer and quilt the top, and trim the extra backing and batting. Attach the binding and hand stitch it to the back.
