Color Theory Free Quilt Pattern by Marsha Evans Moore
Color Theory is an intermediate quilt designed by Marsha Evans Moore featuring Marble Run fabrics by Marcia Derse. Framed diamonds and half diamonds receive triangle corners to form rectangular blocks. Six vertical rows alternate full and half blocks, with the layout identifying fabric combinations and the placement of the surrounding triangles. Two border rounds frame the 51 by 66 inch quilt, including small corner squares in the inner border. The pattern supplies templates for the diamonds, triangles and narrow frame pieces.

Color Theory Free Quilt Pattern by Marsha Evans Moore quilt pattern summary
- Print and test the templates at 100 percent, then transfer them to template plastic or poster board. Trace them face down on the wrong side of the fabric, nesting shapes where possible before cutting.
- Sew the frame pieces around the full diamonds and half diamonds. Add the triangles and reversed triangles to the sides in the illustrated order to complete the blocks.
- Join the diamond and half-diamond blocks into six vertical rows. Sew the rows together, matching seams to the side points of the diamonds.
- Attach the narrow inner border with its corner squares, followed by the wider outer border. Layer the top, batting and backing, baste, quilt as desired, and bind with M strips.
