Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Cotton Candy centers a large framed cat motif among quarter log cabin blocks and matching triangle units. Tabby Road prints are bordered with strips that repeat through the smaller blocks, while sashing separates their diagonal arrangement. The advanced beginner quilt finishes at 73 1/2 inches square. Partial seams complete the large center frame, and the surrounding pieces are assembled in sections before they are joined around that focal block.

Cotton Candy Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day quilt pattern summary

  1. Fussy-cut the center motif and selected block squares, then cut the strips, triangles, and sashing. Follow the direction notes for motifs that need to remain upright.
  2. Frame the large center square, using partial seams for its outer strips. Piece the quarter log cabin blocks and matching triangle blocks in strip order.
  3. Join the smaller blocks and sashing into the four surrounding sections. Attach those sections around the center block, then trim the projecting sashing as directed.
  4. Join the bias binding strips and layer the top with batting and backing. Baste, quilt, trim the layers, and bind the quilt edges.
