Preserve treasured memories with this beautiful quilt pattern by incorporating handwritten signatures from dear friends and family stitched onto quilt blocks. To get started, you'll need one roll of 2 1/2" print strips, 1 yard of print fabric, 1/4 yard of print fabric for the cornerstones, a few yards for the background, and just over a yard for the borders. Work in Progress for Gift

My Signature quilt is a work in progress, a gift for my sister and brother-in-law for their 50th anniversary. I embroidered names, dates, and important words (since I knew getting actual signatures returned by mail would be an uphill task). I downsized to 25 blocks. The pattern is easy to follow. I've enjoyed this project so far.

The directions are easy to understand. Following Jenny on the tutorial has helped also.

I'm making this quilt for my mom. Her 4 children and their spouses will sign a block, as will her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren - for a total of 42 blocks. Dad died 22 years ago, so I'm making a block for him, using his signature that a sibling provided from a document they have, and will work that into the binding. Mom doesn't know about this, so I might even get her to sign a block under the guise of 'testing' a new fabric pen for me. I'll use it in the binding also.
