Tilted nine patch

I finished this quilt last week, the center nine patch was made by a fellow quilter who passed away last year. Her husband brought are quilting group her material and numerous blocks she had completed so I went looking for something I could do to finish her blocks and this is one I found. It’s not easy working on someone else’s blocks, I’m a consistent 1:4 in and she was about 3/8 in but I managed to complete it

Tilted nine patch

Not enjoying this pattern at all. I was extremely careful cutting, sewing in every step. BUT.. when assembling the block it just doesn’t work!
