Uh oh, a spool is unraveling! Refresh and try again.
Description:

Family Fun Day combines two block arrangements with fussy-cut borders that feature sledders, shovels and Let it Snow lettering. Stacey Day designed the intermediate quilt with Snow Day fabrics by Mary Engelbreit. Small four-patch centers are framed with triangles and surrounded by pieced strips and corner squares. Sixteen blocks form a four-by-four center separated by sashing, with mitered outer borders completing a quilt that finishes at seventy and a half inches square.

Family Fun Day Free Quilt Pattern by Stacey Day quilt pattern summary

  1. Fussy cut the border strips around the shovel blades, sledders and house-print details. Cut the remaining strips, squares and triangles, keeping the directional border groups labeled.
  2. Sew the strip sets and piece the two groups of four-patch centers. Add triangles around the centers and combine them with the surrounding units to make eight blocks of each design.
  3. Arrange the blocks in four rows with sashing and join the center. Add the sledder borders, then combine the remaining printed strips into four outer borders.
  4. Attach the outer borders from their marked centers and seam intersections, then miter the corners. Layer, quilt and bind the finished top.
