Flowers and Feathers Free Quilt Pattern by Susan McDermott
Flowers and Feathers combines an appliqued urn, flowers and birds with repeated square-in-square borders. Susan McDermott’s design uses WILLIAMSBURG’s India Chintz fabrics and gives a finished size of 92 by 100 inches. Fusible-web applique forms the central arrangement, with chain-stitch embroidery for the birds’ feet. Additional floral applique blocks interrupt a later pieced border, and broad fabric borders surround the patchwork before the quilt is finished with bias binding.
